Zhan Qiao, built in 1891, was originally used as a wharf and loading pier during the German concession of Qingdao. Expanded and repaired three times (1931-1985-2013), Zhan Qiao is now one of Qingdao's must see attractions at 440 meters long and 8 meters wide.
At the south end of Zhan Qiao, there is a two-storied octagonal pagoda named "Hui Lai Ko" (ripple diverging pavilion) which was constructed in 1930. Zhan Qiao was further made famous by its octagonal pagoda being put on the Tsingtao Beer label. At the north end of Zhan Qiao you can take a rest in the park and enjoy the beautiful ornamental flowers and Japanese black pines.
