The Book Nook is a library, book shop and cafe that offers Qingdao residents quality English books previously found only in Shanghai or Beijing. They receive new shipments from America (and sometimes England) every month and you can even special order most books at no extra cost. The Book Nook sells books at or below the American/English price and you can purchase a library membership and borrow books from The Book Nook's growing library.

The Book Nook also sells hot and cold drinks and simple sandwiches and its English speaking staff aims to provide excellent western-style customer service. If you are from an international school, The Book Nook can create a book fair for your school. In addition to the main store on Nanjing Lu, The Book Nook has a satellite location in Laoshan at SPR Whitehouse Coffee with over 1000 books. The Book Nook also hosts a variety of events including author discussions, wine tastings, story telling, and English Corners.
