There are more than 28 colleges and universities in Qingdao, including Ocean University of China, a key university of the Ministry of Education, and the only one of its kind in China with emphasis on Oceanography, Fisheries & Aquaculture, and Scientific Technology.  Qingdao University was reconstructed in 1993 and is known for its Art, Industrial Chemistry, and Textile industry studies.
