Qingdao Observatory, the first observatory in China, is the home of this youth hostel, which is situated on Mt. Observatory in the heart of Qingdao.  It is a hidden gem from which to explore China’s most well-known coastal city.  It overlooks the Qingdao Bay, some hostel rooms have a panoramic view over the city’s skyline.  Many historical buildings are located near the Old Observatory making it a superb location to view historical landmarks including ZhanQiao Pier, Beach No. 1, German Governor's Castle, Old Town Hall, Mt. Xiaoyu Shan Park, and the Old Fire Watch Tower.  It has a great rooftop lounge (MaMaHuHu) that provides awesome views of Qingdao's Old Town.

The Hostel has been re-renovated in December 2010 and is a unique hostel in the historical Old Observatory.  Services and facilities include: laundry, satellite TV, Free Wireless Internet, IDD + Fax, railway and airport pickup (with appointment).
