Qingdao Observatory, the first observatory in China, is home of this youth hostel, which is situated on Mt. Observatory in the heart of Qingdao, it is a hidden gem from which to explore China’s most well-known coastal city. It overlooks the Qingdao Bay, most hostel rooms have a panoramic view over the city’s skyline. The national ground zero point for China’s altitude is located right in front of the hostel. Many historical buildings are located near the Old Observatory making it a superb location to view historical landmarks including ZhanQiao Pier, Beach No. 1, German Governor Castle, Old Town Hall, Mt. Xiaoyu Shan Park. It has a great rooftop lounge that provides awesome views of Qingdao's Old Town.

The Hostel has been re-renovated in 2007, it is an incredible hostel in the historical building Old Observatory. They provide services and facilities including: kitchen, common room, laundry, satellite TV, Free Wireless Internet, IDD + Fax, railway and airport pickup (with appointment).
